I doubt if any Indian has done a book like this" says Journalist Vir Sanghvi about Christine Manfield's book, A Personal Guide to India and Bhutan. Her book was launched at The Park Hotel, Kolkata on 17th January, during the Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival 2016.

Christine Manfield wears several feathers on her cap. She is a highly regarded Australian chef, author, food and travel writer, presenter, teacher, food manufacturer and a gastronomic traveler. She is considered as of the best chefs in Australia and has even published 10 award winning books. In her latest book, Christine narrates her personal experiences in India and Bhutan. The book talks about travel, food and a lot more and is a good guide for a person travelling to either India or Bhutan.

The book launch was followed by a conversation with eminent Journalist Vir Sanghvi, food critic and musician Nondon Bagchi and Chef Sharad Dewan.

Post the book launch session, there was a Sugar n Spice session where Christine Manfield along with Meera Syal and Chef Sharad Dewan talk about their memoirs of childhood as well as their favorite desserts. Christine discusses about her favorite desserts from her book, Dessert Divas and also demonstrates the steps of creating one of them. She created a dish from her own book, Birthday Suit. It consists of a meringue puff with white chocolate mousse, lemon curd, raspberry sauce and fresh raspberries covered in thin shards made of white chocolate. A dash of Raspberry Powder on top and the masterpiece is ready!
