DEEP FRIED OREOS

There are some things in life that are beyond limits. Like, indulgence. You indulge in something so beautiful and sweet that you do not want to get out of it! These deep-fried Oreos are kind of similar.

Fried Oreos

A crisp covering, followed by a soft chocolaty layer, then comes a bite of Oreo biscuit followed by the melted cream, can you imagine! It's an explosion of flavors in your mouth you can't even define. I was mindblown the first time I had tried this in Howra Burger in Mumbai! I felt, is this some kind of wizardry? How can something so simple be so wonderful?

I had tried it a few times at home now and this batch was honestly the best one! If you have Oreos, pancake mix, and milk, you are good to go! The ones that I tried were made with a plain vanilla pancake batter, however, this time I made a chocolate pancake batter. You can experiment with Oreo flavors and the pancake flavors as per your liking.

Things you need
Fried Oreos

  • 10-12 Oreos
  • 1 Cup Refined Four
  • 1/2 Cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
  • Oil, for frying

How to make it?

  • First things first, if you want it super easy, use any pancake mix for the batter of these fried Oreos. Else here are a few steps to follow, just a few though. Meanwhile, keep your Oreo cookies in the freezer for an hour.
  • For the batter, take flour, cocoa powder and baking powder in a bowl. In another bowl, add in the eggs, vanilla essence, and powdered sugar and whisk well. Mix the dry and wet ingredients, and gradually pour in the milk to form a smooth batter.
  • Once your batter is ready, take out the Oreos from the freezer. In a pan, heat the oil. Dip an Oreo in the batter, coat it on all sides and then gently drop it in the pan. Let it cook on one side, then flip it. You'll notice that it gently puffs up from all sides, and once it's cooked, take it out and drain the excess oil.
  • Dust some powdered sugar on top of it or drizzle some Chocolate syrup, you are good to go!!!
